SWITCH, a Rome-based startup focused on optimizing fleet operations and planning with artificial intelligence (AI), has successfully raised €946k in a pre-seed investment round. This funding, which includes €728k in equity investment and non-dilutive funding, will help SWITCH build smarter, more sustainable cities by addressing key challenges in urban mobility and logistics.
The funding round saw participation from a range of prominent investors, including Magic Spectrum, EIT Urban Mobility, Berkeley Skydeck Europe Milano, NextSTEP, Spreentech Ventures, MobilityUP, and Apuliasoft Srl. The company has been accelerated by Berkeley Skydeck Europe and is part of the MIND – Milano Innovation District.
Matteo Forte, CEO and Founder of SWITCH, expressed his excitement about the success of the investment round, stating, “This achievement reflects the growing trust of our partners and new investors, who believe in our technology and our team.” He added, “At SWITCH, we are committed to building smarter and more sustainable cities by addressing key challenges like fleet optimization and strategic planning, demand forecasting, and operational efficiency. This investment will enable us to continue innovating and driving meaningful changes in mobility and logistics.”
Founded in 2022, SWITCH is developing AI-powered products designed to improve urban mobility and logistics. The startup’s solutions focus on fleet optimization and fleet planning, enabling businesses to streamline their operations and boost efficiency.
SWITCH’s flagship solutions, Urban CoPilot and Urbiverse, make use of the company’s proprietary AI Simulation Engine. These tools deliver real-time fleet optimization, demand forecasting, and strategic fleet planning capabilities. SWITCH has already processed over 5 million trips across multiple countries, providing data-driven insights that help fleet operators enhance operational efficiency while simultaneously training the company’s AI models for better results.
In addition to supporting fleet operators, SWITCH is also partnering with technology companies in the mobility and logistics space. Its AI Agent for demand prediction is currently in testing with multiple companies and will be publicly launched in 2025. This technology helps partners enhance their solutions by providing scalable and precise predictive capabilities for various vehicle types and verticals.
The funds raised from this investment round will be used to accelerate the development of SWITCH’s products, expand its commercial footprint, and strengthen partnerships within the mobility and logistics ecosystem. Matteo Forte emphasized, “AI makes mobility planning dynamic, data-driven, and precise, ensuring fleet resources are optimized and investments are made wisely.” He added that scaling AI in mobility requires not only strong algorithms but also access to high-quality data and industry connections, which his investors are well-positioned to provide.
SWITCH is poised to make a significant impact in the urban mobility and logistics sectors by improving fleet operations with cutting-edge AI technology, ensuring more efficient and sustainable solutions for businesses and cities alike.
