RE: Additional Benefits – Topaz Fuel Card

CIR: 003/14

DATE: JANUARY 8th 2014

Dear Colleague,

CPSU are happy to announce the availability of the CPSU Topaz Fuel card. Members who wish to make use of this scheme should go to the following website link http://www.fuelcard.ie/cpsu/ and follow the instructions advised. Members will be asked to complete an application form which requires a credit check. Once this is cleared members can avail of fuel discounts of 2 cent per litre off the garage quoted price of diesel or petrol and other benefits provided by Topaz fuels.

The union hopes that this benefit is useful to members and will review its performance from time to time. If in the meantime you are having difficulties accessing this site you should send an email to headoffice@cpsu.ie and we will attempt to deal with your query.

Membership Plus

Up to 12,000 Membership Plus benefit cards have been distributed to members with the Christmas edition of Aontas. Many members have currently accessed the site and made savings using the card. The union is currently dealing with a number of queries from members, which I hope to address below.

  1. Members having difficulty logging on to the dedicated CPSU Membership Plus site should carefully note that the email address, which is printed on the accompanying leaflet, is http://cpsu.membershipplus.ie  Some members are placing an s in the address after http. I would ask members to carefully note this issue.
  1. The union has been made aware that following the distribution of the cards some members have not received any cards. Given the membership numbers of the union and what has been distributed, we suspect that non-members and other grades may be attempting to use the cards. Local union reps should note that the union is bearing a cost for the use of these cards and they should only be distributed to members of the CPSU. The union is attempting to check who has applied for cards and will advise the provider to discontinue the membership of non-union members in this regard.
  1. CPSU also request that local activists return any remaining cards not being used that they may have in their possession. This will enable the union to redistribute cards to those areas where we have experienced a shortfall in providing the card to members. Local reps and members can return unwanted cards to CPSU, Head Office, 19/20 Adelaide Rd. Dublin 2 marked for the attention of Des Fagan.

Referrals

In most cases members are enjoying the benefits that these new union benefits schemes are providing. If however you are having a difficulty with any of the above in the first instance we would ask that you contact the provider either Topaz or Membership Plus to resolve your problems. If you remain dissatisfied please contact headoffice@cpsu.ie and mark your query either Topaz or Membership Plus so that the union can deal with the issue effectively.

Members will appreciate that CPSU cannot provide the staffing levels to deal with all queries in this regard so the best option for members is to email the union at the above address rather than phoning head office.

Yours fraternally
